Karen is a partner at Family Law Matters Scotland. A graduate of Glasgow University, Karen qualified as a solicitor in 1992 and has practised exclusively in the areas of family and child law since 2005.
She is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in both Family Law and Child Law. Karen is a family law arbitrator, and is also trained in collaborative practice. She has been instructed by the Scottish Government in a number of international child abduction cases including an appeal in 2015 to the UK Supreme Court in the case AR v RN. Karen also has experience in obtaining Parental Orders following successful surrogacy treatment.
Karen is a member of the Family Law Association, FLAGS, Consensus Scotland, the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, and the Glasgow Bar Association. She also tutors and lectures in family law at Glasgow University.
